The device has a LED module (100) comprising LEDs (10) mounted in an electronic circuit including branches arranged in parallel, where the branches are provided with the LEDs, respectively. Each branch has a connection wire i.e. bonding wire (12), in series with the LED, where the connection wire is made of aluminum, and has diameter ranging between 25-50 microns. The connection wire is calibrated so as to serve as a fuse when the LED of the branch is in short-circuit. The LEDs are formed on a same wafer made of semiconductor material.
