Disclosed are tricyclic nitrogen containing compounds of formula (I), or pharmaceutically acceptable salts or solvates thereof, wherein the substituents are disclosed within the specification. The use of the compounds of formula (I) for the manufacture of a medicament for treating bacterial infection is also disclosed. Also disclosed is 6,7-Dihydro[1,4]dioxino[2,3-c]pyridazine-3-carbaldehyde, an intermediate of the compound of formula (I).
