The applicator has a terminal part (5) comprising a tab, which is supported against an edge (11) of a nail. Another tab is supported on an upper surface (15) of the nail. A nail polish retaining space (17) is delimited by a bottom part (21) and faces (23, 25) of legs (9, 13). The faces are arranged opposite to each other, and project with respect to bottom of the retaining space, where one of the faces is provided at a distance from the bottom part to a hollow/projection relief i.e. V notch (33), to fix an edge of the nail at the distance from the bottom part while applying the nail polish.
