The method involves separating a surface of a non-rectangular basin (10). A curtain (12) is unwound to the right of a line (d) without turning the curtain until the curtain covers a front zone of the basin and supports against one of the ends (16) of the basin. Unwinding of the curtain and synchronized turn are continued by a retro push from the line till to another end (18) of the basin when a rear zone of the basin is covered. Unfolding of curtain is stopped when the curtain covers integrality of the surface of the basin. An independent claim is also included for a device for automatic installation of a curtain of a swimming pool, comprising a non-rectangular basin.
