Disclosed herein are chromene and thiochromene carboxamide derivatives of formula 1, wherein the substituents are as define within the specification, methods for preparing and pharmaceutical compositions comprising said compounds. Such compounds are useful as dopamine D3 receptor (DRD3) agonists in the treatment of various neurological and psychiatric conditions such as Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia, depression and dependency or addiction to drugs or other addictive substances ie nicotine or alcohol.
