PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk apparatus which detects a tracking error signal from only a space section of a recorded signal in order to avoid tracking instability in writing, wherein power consumption thereof is saved, while a circuit scale thereof is decreased, and a cost thereof is accordingly reduced.SOLUTION: The optical disk apparatus includes push-pull signal detection means having a sufficient operation bandwidth and light-pulse-train insertion means inserting a light pulse train in an optional position of a recording light waveform signal for solving a problem in writing. The apparatus further includes a push-pull signal detection means detecting a push-pull signal in synchronization with an inserted light pulse train. The apparatus further includes a push-pull signal detection means detecting a push-pull signal, during reproduction, from only a space section of a signal recorded on a disk. |
