PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purified tea extract useful as materials of catechin containing beverage which has a good aftertaste and quaffable when kept in the mouth.SOLUTION: The method for producing purified tea extract obtained by adsorbing tea extract liquid or its concentrate on a synthetic adsorbent and then bringing the synthetic adsorbent into contact with an aqueous solution of organic solvent to elute the nonpolymer catechins, wherein the tea extract contains (A) the nonpolymer catechins and (B) caffeines in a mass ratio [(B)/(A)] of 0.05 or less, includes a step of subjecting the extract to a step passing an ultrafiltration membrane. |
