The present invention relates to a copolymer, produced by converting a polyphenylene having two terminal coupling groups X1 and X2 with a flexible chain component comprising two terminal coupling groups Y1 and Y2. A high elastic modulus, high media resistance, and low-cost, large-scale production can be achieved in that the flexible chain comprises a chain length of less than or equal to 95 chain atoms and one each of the coupling groups X1 and X2 reacts with one each of the coupling groups Y1 and Y2, forming a bond selected from the group made of carbolic acid amide, carbolic acid ester, carbolic acid imide, urethane, carbonate, urea, thiourea, sulfonic acid amine, sulfonic acid ester, imidazole, oxazole, thiazole, oxazoline, imidazoline, amine, ether, and thioether bonds. |
