A map drawing device comprises an input value converter (101), which converts a scale that has been entered to an internally used value, a map data storage unit (102), which stores multiple types of map data with different scales, a map data selector (103), which selects map data from the map data stored in the map data storage unit to create a map of an intermediate scale that is not stored in the map data storage unit, and a work processor (104), which uses the map data selected by the map data selector and the value obtained by conversion by the input value converter to produce map data of an intermediate scale.
