The method involves adjusting a contact pressure of two grinding tools (15, 16) of a bowl mill crusher (2) depending on a difference between input pressure of a fluid stream (3) during inflow into the crusher and initial pressure of the fluid stream during exhaust of the bowl mill crusher. The operating parameters such as conveyance speed of a conveyor (4) of a bowl mill crusher, grinding table pressure of a grinding table (14) of the crusher, and the rotation speed of the grinding tools are adjusted such that a quality parameter of granular material (1) is present in a preset reference range. An independent claim is also included for a bowl mill crusher comprising a control device.
