PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a playback device which reduces the burden to eyes by switching from TV watching with both eyes to TV watching with one eye when switching a decoder configuration from a two-decoder configuration to a one-decoder configuration.SOLUTION: In the case where a decoder decodes a graphic stream for left eye and a graphics stream for right eye in a stereoscopic video playback mode, graphics display is erased at the time of switching between the stereoscopic video playback mode and a plane video playback mode.
