PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the confidentiality of encrypted data by disabling to obtain any key data even when a recording medium in which the key data of the encrypted data are recorded is carried away.SOLUTION: A key data storage apparatus includes: a key data storage medium part 12 which stores key data of the encrypted data; and a reading/writing part 13 which reads and writes the key data, whose parts are contained in a cartridge casing 11 accommodatable in a library unit. When the cartridge casing 11 is irregularly ejected from the library unit, the key data recorded in the key data storage medium part 12 are deleted.
