PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of enlarging the width of air current control to achieve a comfortable air-conditioned space by accurately recognizing a position of an obstacle in distinction from a wall existing around an area to be air-conditioned.SOLUTION: An indoor unit includes a suction port for sucking air; a heat exchanger for performing the heat exchange of the air sucked from the suction port; a blow-off port for blowing off the air heat-exchanged in the heat exchanger; a wind direction changing blade provided at the blow-off port to change the direction of the blown-off air; and an obstacle detecting device for detecting the presence/absence of the obstacle. The wind direction changing blade is controlled based on the detected result of the obstacle detecting device to perform air-conditioning operation. An area to be air-conditioned is divided into a plurality of obstacle position discrimination areas by the obstacle detecting device, and the presence/absence of the obstacle in each divided obstacle position discrimination area is determined in distinction from the wall existing around the area to be air-conditioned. |
