PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean a nozzle face in such a manner that a cleaning liquid may not infiltrate into a nozzle hole without damaging the nozzle face, while reducing ink consumption.SOLUTION: A cleaning device performs cleaning of the nozzle face of a recording head which has the nozzle face opposite to a recording medium and discharges an ink. The cleaning device includes the cleaning liquid for cleaning the nozzle face, and a pressure adjustment means for adjusting the internal pressure of the recording head. The cleaning device performs the cleaning of the nozzle face with the cleaning liquid while making the internal pressure of the recording head positive by the pressure adjustment means. |
