The device (1) has a ventilation pipe (2) discharging exhaust air from a room into surrounding atmosphere (4) and made of heat conducting material. The ventilation pipe comprises a drain outlet (5) for discharging condensate collected in the pipe. A heating element (10) is provided at the outlet of the pipe and coupled with a temperature sensor (11). The heating element is activated for partially heating the pipe when temperature determined by the sensor falls below a threshold value. The heating element and the sensor are surrounded by casting compound (17).
