PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress cooling of a heat roller, which is caused by compressed air, without degrading the stripping effect of paper.SOLUTION: A fixing device 12 conveys a sheet P to a fixing nip N between the heat roller 81 and a pressure roller 82, thereby fusing a toner image on the sheet P under heat and fixing it thereon. In addition, the fixing device 12 includes a conveyance roller pair 25b, an air stripping device 83, and a control device 84. The conveyance roller pair 25b is disposed downstream of the fixing nip N in a sheet conveyance direction, and convey the sheep P in the sheet conveyance direction. The air stripping device 83 strips the sheet P from the heat roller 81 by jetting compressed air toward an area between the sheet P and heat roller 81 from the side downstream of the fixing nip N in the sheet conveyance. The control device 84 stops the jetting of the compressed air to the air stripping device 83 after the leading end of the sheet P comes into contact with the conveyance roller pair 25b. |
