FENCE, AND COATING SOLUTION THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fence capable of obtaining both of photocatalytic decomposition activity and a photocatalytic hydrophilic function even in the case that a coating film is applied to an enamel or clear coating surface in certain thickness in order to suppress the deterioration of the coating surface.SOLUTION: The fence is obtained by providing a photocatalyst layer on the surface of a base material and the photocatalyst layer is obtained by coating the base material with a coating solution for the fence and subsequently drying the coated base material. The coating solution for the fence includes photocatalytic metal oxide particles, silica particles and a curable silicone emulsion and the silica particles are partially subjected to coating or modification treatment with silane having a hydrophobic group and/or silicone having a hydrophobic group. The surface of the base material is coated with the coating solution for the fence and, after the coated base material is dried, at least a part of the hydrophobic group is substituted with a hydroxy group by the optical excitation reaction of the photocatalytic metal oxide particles to make the surface of the photocatalyst layer hydrophilic.
