摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed type optical fiber pressure sensor system, capable of exactly measuring a lateral pressure applied to an optical fiber and coping with such a detection object having a long zone.SOLUTION: A system S includes the optical fiber 10; an elliptical tube 20, in which a pressure sensor section 11 of the optical fiber 10 is fit; a light source 30 into which test light is made incident from the one end 101 side of the optical fiber 10; an optical circulator 40; and a heterodyne receiver 50 for measuring reflected light of the test light. The outer circumferential surface of the optical fiber 10 is brought into contact with or comes in close contact with the inner circumferential surface of the elliptic tube 20 in the minor-axis direction. Meanwhile, the inner diameter of the elliptic tube 20 in the major-axis direction has a dimension sufficiently longer than the outer diameter of the optical fiber 10. When a pressure is applied from the outside to the elliptic tube 20 in the minor-axis direction, the pressure is substantially transmitted to the optical fiber 10, thereby applying the lateral pressure to the optical fiber 10.
