Disclosed is a method for producing a wafer lens (1) wherein a glass substrate (3) is provided with a lens part (5) which is made of a first curable resin (5A). In the method, a sub-master molding part (22) having a plurality of negative molding surfaces corresponding to the optical surface shape of the lens part (5) is formed from a master (10) having a plurality of positive molding surfaces corresponding to the optical surface shape of the lens part (5) by using a second curable resin (22A); a sub-master (20) is formed by backing the sub-master molding part (22) with a sub-master substrate (26); and the lens part (5) is formed by filling the space between the sub-master (20) and the glass substrate (3) with the first curable resin (5A) and curing the resin (5A) therein. In this connection, the first curable resin (5A) is composed of an epoxy resin. Consequently, the production cost can be reduced, and a high-precision wafer lens having small curing shrinkage can be produced.
