A method and an apparatus for transmitting location information are provided. The method includes: the base station transmits the location information of the user terminal or the location information of the base station to the serving mobile location center (SMLC) during the process of locating the user terminal. The apparatus includes: a location unit used to locate the user terminal; a transmission unit used to transmit the location information of the user terminal determined by the location unit or the location information of the base station to the serving mobile location center (SMLC). |
