HALOGEN INCANDESCENT LAMP

A halogen incandescent lamp for mains operation has a hermetically sealed bulb (2) and a filling of inert gas with a halogen-containing addition. There is an axial sectioned filament (5) and also some protuberances formed in the bulb which hold the filament in place. There are at least three of them, each formed by a funnel-shaped knob(12), all equispaced around the periphery. The bulb is pinched on two sides. The filament is either single or double wound. It comprises sections linked by connectors where the protuberances hold it. These connectors are wound with greater stiffness than the sections forming the rest of the filament.
