The method involves producing three-dimensional image data (12) of an extremity (4b), and reflecting three-dimensional image data (12') of another extremity (4a). Two radioscopy images (24a, 24b) of the extremities are produced from receiver devices (26a, 26b). A third radioscopy image is produced for the former radioscopy images from the reflected three-dimensional image data. A measure of correlation of the extremities is determined from the radioscopy images. A nomination for performing alignment of bone is automatically determined from the radioscopy images.
