PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in an over-rotation preventing device for a wind power generator with a brake controlling means for operating an overcurrent brake, which becomes expensive since it requires a voltage and current detection means for detecting a DC output voltage and a power converter controlling means for output of excessive power to an excitation coil.SOLUTION: A wind power generator converts an AC output of a permanent magnet generator driven by a wind mill to a DC output by means of a rectifier and then supplies the power to a battery. In the wind power generator, the over-rotation preventing device is so configured that DC is output to the battery from an AC output terminal of a series combination of a first winding and a second winding which generate the same induced voltage phase in the permanent magnet generator, an output terminal of the first winding only is connected to a rectifier for eddy current, a DC output of the rectifier for eddy current is connected to an excitation coil, and the other end of the excitation coil is connected to the battery. The over-rotation preventing device also includes a disc-like rotor excited by the excitation coil. |
