The present invention relates to a solar collector, and more specifically to a solar collector equipped with a circular glass tube being open at one side and closed at the other side, which has a dual vacuum tube structure mounted to a cover tube of a main tube via which water is carried; an absorber plate housed in the open side of the glass tube, with the plate being composed of a metal cover adhered closely to an inner surface of the glass tube; and cold and hot water flow tubes for receiving incoming fluids, the cold and hot water flow tubes being insertedly fixed into the main tube and housed in the glass tube, with the hot water flow tube being larger in diameter than the cold water flow tube. Further, the solar collector comprises a 'U'-shaped solar collecting pipe, which has a sharp-edged inlet and a sharp-edged outlet for the cold and hot water flow tubes and serves to absorb solar heat to thus heat water. The present invention is installed in a manner so that water is carried by natural circulation for a smooth flow, and demonstrates an increased efficiency of solar heat absorption when cold water is warmed up and converted into hot water, thereby reducing the cost of equipment and materials. |
