The collector (1) has a connecting pipe (4) branching from a distribution pipe (2) and led into a collecting pipe (3). The distribution pipe is connected with the collecting pipe or with a pipe by a throttle connection (5), where the collecting pipe is led into the pipe. The connecting pipe is formed as a tubing loop. The throttle connection is observed in flow direction of a heat transfer medium and provided in an area behind the connecting pipe and/or the tubing loop, and comprises a pipe section whose inside diameter is smaller than inside diameter of the distribution pipe. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a solar collector.
