The shear (1) has upper and lower blades (2, 3) for cutting sheet panels (8), and a stacking device for stacking cut sheet panel sections (10). The stacking device has a slide (25) with an end stop (26) and two layers (29, 30) that are arranged at a distance from each other in an area of the slide. Distances (L-1, L-2) of the end stop to the layers are adjusted in such a manner that a stack area (31) is formed, where the stack area lies between one of the layers and the end stop or between another layer and the end stop based on breadth of the sheet panel sections.
