A Secure Digital Memory Card (SD) and a data access controlling method are provided and applied to the technical field of Smart Card. The SD card comprises an interface module, a storage module, and a control module connected to the interface module and the storage module separately. The storage module comprises a common area storage unit and a private area storage unit. The control module comprises a SD card direct access unit for controlling the access of a peripheral equipment to the common area storage unit, a firmware unit of separate storage mechanism for preventing the illegal access of a peripheral equipment to the private area storage unit, and a Virtual Machine Operating System unit for installing some applications based on a user's requirements, and the Virtual Machine Operating System unit is combined with the firmware unit of separate storage mechanism in order to run the applications in a secure protected manner. The SD card and the data access controlling method reserve the convenience of the access to the SD card data storage, and are capable of installing some applications based on a user's requirements and running the applications in a secure protected manner.
