PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine control method and an internal combustion engine control device which can improve both emission performance and fuel economy.SOLUTION: A first post-injection map 7a in which the balance of emission performance improvement and fuel economy improvement is optimally set, and a second post-injection map 7b in which the fuel economy is optimally set are prepared as a post-injection map 7. When performing post-injection, a DPF system 6 is determined whether the system is in an inadequate state for the self-regeneration of a DPF 5 or in a state that the self-regeneration is possible from a temperature of exhaust gas. When a determination result indicates the inadequateness for self-regeneration, a post-injection amount and an interval are determined by referring to the first post-injection map 7a. When the determination result indicates the adequateness for self-regeneration, the post-injection amount and the interval are determined by referring to the second post-injection map 7b. |
