PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add indexes to a certain section of moving pictures not to a some point by a simple operation during imaging of moving pictures.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus has a display part which displays moving pictures during photographing, an index operation part to input index instructions, and an index configuration part which configures a section of the moving pictures imaged in a specified period including the time point when the index instruction is input through user operation as an index section corresponding to one user operation in the index operation part during imaging of the moving pictures.
