PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper capable of improving riding comfort by controlling a movable mass.SOLUTION: In this damper, a movable mass 13 is provided movably in vertical direction by an actuator 14 in a vehicle body 1, and a damper body 12 provided with a spring element 15 bearing the self-weight of the movable mass 13 is formed. A pressure gage 16 to detect the air pressure of an air spring 10 provided to support the vehicle body 1 is provided on a carriage 2. A controller 17 is provided which gives the actuator 14 a control command of the movable mass 13. The control command is derived by controllers 21a, 21b, and 21c storing control parameters corresponding to vibration characteristics of the vehicle body 1, which are found in real time from the vehicle weight estimated from the pressure measurement signal of the pressure gage 16, and the natural frequency of the vehicle body 1 calculated based on the vehicle weight. The movable mass 13 is controlled by the control command derived by using the control parameters corresponding to the frequency characteristics even if the vibration characteristics of the vehicle body 1 is changed according to the change of the vehicle weight and the natural frequency. Hence, the good damping effect of the vehicle body 1 is always exerted. |
