PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an undiscounted price from being read out in error when a discount display or the like is applied to a code symbol.SOLUTION: A code symbol reading apparatus includes: an imaging unit 120 for imaging a code symbol; an analytical processing unit M3 for performing analytical processing of image data imaged by the imaging unit 120; a decision unit M5 for determining whether a graphic of a module composing the code symbol out of the image data analytically processed by the analytical processing unit M3 is a complicated graphic or not; and a switching part M6-1 which, when the decision unit M5 determines that the graphic of the module composing the code symbol is the complicated graphic, switches the reading of the code symbol to manual input without automatically recognizing the graphic as the code symbol. |
