PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide expandable polystyrene-based resin particles for heat insulators, having excellent flame retardancy and heat insulating properties without using hexabromocyclododecane, providing excellent dimensional stability of hardly causing the expansion and shrinkage by the temperature change, and capable of corresponding to sick building syndromes.SOLUTION: The polystyrene-based foam-molded product obtained by using the expandable polystyrene-based resin particles produced as follows, previously foaming the resin particles, filling a mold with the pre-foamed particles, and foaming the particles, has an average chord length of 40-150 μm. The expandable polystyrene-based resin particles are produced by dispersing polystyrene-based resin particles in an aqueous suspension, feeding a flame retardant solution obtained by dissolving a powdery flame retardant of tetrabromocyclooctane of 40-300 pts.wt. in 100 pts.wt. of a plasticizer having a solubility parameter value (SP value) of ≥8.3 and ≤9.4 to the aqueous suspension before or during impregnation of the foaming agent to impregnate the polystyrene-based resin particles with the flame retardant. |
