PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately and reliably ensure the distance between a recording head and a recording medium by using a simple mechanism and enable execution of high-quality recording.SOLUTION: A recording apparatus includes: a recording-material feeding device 2 for feeding recording materials one by one to the downstream side; the recording head 13 for carrying out recording on the recording materials; a carriage 10 equipped with the recording head which is reciprocable in a main scanning direction along a carriage guide shaft 12; a conveyance roller 19 which includes a conveyance drive roller 19a and a conveyance driven roller 19b for conveying the recording materials; and a recording material stacker 50 which can be located at a first position and a second position. The recording apparatus includes: a first link mechanism which displace the carriage guide shaft in a linked manner by displacing the recording material stacker. When the recording material stacker is located at the first position, the carriage guide shaft is linked therewith and displaced upward; and, as long as the recording material stacker is located at the first position, the carriage guide shaft cannot be lowered. |
