PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polypeptide.SOLUTION: New polypeptides, polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides, and related compositions and methods are disclosed for zalphal 1 which is a new cytokine receptor. The polypeptides can be used in methods for detecting ligands stimulating proliferation and/or growth of hematopoietic, lymphoid and myeloid cells in vitro and in vivo. Receptor polypeptides binding to the ligands can also be used for blocking ligand activity in vitro and in vivo. The polypeptides encoding zalphal 1 are located on chromosome 16, and can be used for identifying a region of the genome associated with human disease states. |
