PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support for image material which exhibits satisfactory white preservability.SOLUTION: In the support for image material, both sides of a base sheet are covered with polyolefin resins where the base sheet contains at least one type of a chemical component selected from among: (A) a thioether-based compound expressed in a formula (1); (B) a water-soluble polyvalent metal salt; (C) a thiourea-based compound; (D) reducing saccharide; (E) a pyridine-based compound; (F) a disulfide-based compound; and (G) a thiazine-based compound.
