PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slurry in order to form an insulating layer suitable for composing a separator for lithium ion secondary battery, the slurry containing particulates and having a superior dispersibility of the particulates, to provide a separator for lithium ion secondary battery manufactured by using the slurry, to provide a manufacturing method of the separator, and to provide the lithium ion battery having the separator for lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: The slurry for the insulating layer formation, used for forming an insulating layer having ion permeability and heat resistance applicable to the separator for lithium ion secondary battery, contains heat resistant particulates, a thickener and a medium, and the heat resistant particulates are composed of metal hydroxide having a density less than 3 g/cm. The separator for lithium ion secondary battery manufactured through a process of coating the slurry for the insulating layer formation on the base material, the manufacturing method of the separator, and the lithium ion secondary battery having the separator, are provided. |
