PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming openings of tubular knitted fabric, which suppresses an increase in production cost and reduction in production efficiency as compared to a conventional production method for tubular knitted fabric not having openings and improves durability and appearance of openings as compared to openings of conventional tubular knitted fabric.SOLUTION: The method for forming openings of tubular knitted fabric, which forms openings 16 of a tubular knitted fabric 1 in knitting the tubular knitted fabric 1 using a circular knitting machine in the method for forming the openings of the tubular knitted fabric, includes a reinforcing part knitting step of knitting reinforcing parts 12 for the openings 16 by carrying out reciprocal rotation motion of the cylinder of the circular knitting machine and an opening formation step of forming the openings 16 by not knitting parts of courses corresponding to the reinforcing parts 12 in knitting by rotation motion of the cylinder of the circular knitting machine.
