PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core material for shoes whose variation in quality caused by its hardening can be reduced while reducing a time necessary for hardening operation.SOLUTION: A counter 11 as the core material for shoes comprises leather 12 such as leather tanned with tannin and impregnated paper 13 formed by impregnating base paper formed form wood pulp with resin which are stuck with an adhesive agent 14. Consequently, the thickness of the leather 12 can be reduced by the thickness of the impregnated paper 13. Also, by reduction in the thickness of the leather 12, a time necessary for drying the counter 11 after impregnating it with water, i.e. a time necessary for hardening the counter 11 can be shortened by a time corresponding to the reduction in the thickness of the leather 12. Furthermore, since the leather 12 is pulled by the impregnated paper 13 and has no risk of largely being shrunk when the counter 11 is dried, a variation in the degree of the shrinking of the leather 12 during the drying of the counter 11 is reduced. As a result, the quality of the counter 11 at each product is also uniformed. |
