PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system, a control device and a related control method for substantially solving or reducing a problem of the combustion control of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: The controlling method includes self-tuning engine control algorithms using an input from a transducer 17 for measuring the pressure of an engine cylinder 3 and an engine crankshaft rotational position sensor 21, a method for processing input signals so that (a) the offset of a pressure transducer voltage, (b) errors of a crank position encoder, and (c) accurate values of an engine compression ratio may be "self-tuned" or learned, and improved pressure-ratio based algorithm for calculating cylinder heat release fraction as a function of a crank angle. |
