PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently regulate a flow of a refrigerant while maintaining a sealed chamber in a system providing stored thermal energy for use during a peak electrical demand.SOLUTION: The mixed-phase regulator (300) is used in place of a thermostatic expansion valve used in a conventional air-conditioning system that is used together with capillary tubes and orifices regulates the refrigerant fed from the compressor to the heat load.
