PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend service life of a disk device.SOLUTION: In moving an optical pickup from the outermost peripheral position r1 of a data region to the innermost peripheral position r2 thereof, at first a controller moves the optical pickup from the outermost peripheral position r1 to a position r3 (step S1). Subsequently the controller inversely moves the optical pickup located on the position r3 in a direction from the innermost peripheral position r2 of the data region toward the outermost peripheral position r1 (step S2). If necessary, thread jump is repeated (step S4). Finally the controller makes the optical pickup track jump to the innermost peripheral position r2 (step S5). |
