PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent allowing formation of a liquid crystal alignment layer that has superior display quality and causes no image persistence, even when a liquid crystal display element is continuously driven for a long period of time, and having excellent printability, even when printing is performed with a small amount of the liquid.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal aligning agent contains at least one kind of polymer selected from among the group consisting of polyamic acids and polyimide. In this case, the polymer contains a group expressed by formula (A) in at least a part of the molecule. In the formula (A), R represents a group, having a liquid crystal alignment capability; Xrepresents a single bond,-O-,-COO-, or-OCO-, wherein a bond provided with # is bonded to R; and × represents a bond. |
