A radio frequency identification (RFID) reader may extract a reception power from a tag signal transmitted from an RFID tag, generate a power pattern from the extracted reception power, and analyze the power pattern. Next, the RFID reader may determine whether the RFID tag is identified based on an analysis result of the power pattern.
