<p>A method for terminal handover between modes, a terminal and a multimode communication system are provided in the present invention. The present invention related to mobile communications field is invented in order to solve the communication interruption problem which occurs during the hard handover of a multimode terminal between modes in the art. The terminal receives a handover instruction from a first base station, and said handover instruction is the instruction which instructs the terminal to hand over from the first base station to a second base station at a preset handover time; before the preset handover time, the terminal keeps communicating with the first base station using the first antenna set and the first baseband processing unit; before the preset handover time, the terminal implements the configuration which makes the second antenna set and the second baseband processing unit be suitable for the communication mode of the second base station; at the preset handover time, the terminal hands over to the configured second antenna set and the configured second baseband processing unit so as to communicate with the second base station, and stops the communication between the first antenna set, the first baseband processing unit and the first base station. With the present invention, the communication interruption time for the hard handover is reduced.</p> |
