A Rapid Temporary Phone Number system and apparatus operating as part of the cellular network, comprising of at least one application software residing in at least one of the mobile units of the network having a unique initial subscriber number, and a Rapid Temporary Phone Number network unit comprising of at least a Temporary Number Application Server unit, where the said mobile unit application software enables the said mobile unit to acquire at least one new additional subscriber number from the Rapid Temporary Phone Number network on demand and facilitates the subsequent said mobile unit's outgoing calls via the new additional subscriber number, and where Temporary Number Application Server unit: - provides and allocates at least one new subscriber number for the said mobile unit if demanded and, - directs subsequent incoming calls made to the new subscriber number to the said initial subscriber number and, - directs subsequent outgoing calls made by the said mobile unit to the specified number.
