PURPOSE: A user interface apparatus and a display device are provided to perform video communication through a display device of large size by converting a video communication signal into an image signal for display from an external personal portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A video call signal receiver(128) receives a video communication signal from an external personal portable terminal, and a signal converter(126) is electrically connected to a video communication signal receiver. The signal converter converts the video communication signal into the image signal for display. The converted image signal for display is transferred to a TV controller(20), and a remote control signal receiver receives a signal which turns on/off the personal portable terminal. A remote control signal controller transfers the on/off signal to the personal portable terminal.
