METHOD FOR MODULATING/DEMODULATING OPTICAL DISK RLL

PURPOSE: A method for modulating/demodulating optical disk RLL(Run Length Limited) is provided to improve the reliability on detection/recording density in header/recording fields through applying RLL modulating code. CONSTITUTION: RF(Radio Frequency) signal read from an optical disk(510) is amplified in a reproducing amplifier(530). The signal is detected as a pulse signal by passing through an equalizer(540) and a detector(550). The signal is demodulated in a modulated code demodulator(560) for being generated as an error corrected signal in an ECC(Error Correction Code) decoder(570). Data inputted to an optical disk recorder/player is modulated into RLL code as (d,k,m,n) of minimum/maximum run lengths(d,k), data bit length(m), and codeword length(n). Herein, the run length is limited as a discontinuous interval(s) for being added.
