PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel having electric breaker function whose motor can sufficiently use the function of the motor until the electronic breaker function is activated. SOLUTION: A timer treatment for measuring the time until an electronic breaker starts to work is carried out as follows. In step S61, a timer-stopping time ta, which is determined by the table of timer starting conditions, is read in. In step S62, it is judged weather the timer is on or off. When the timer is off, the process is moved to step S63 to turn on the timer in order to detect the passage of the motor stopping time ta, which is the time until the motor is stopped. In step S64, the remaining time of the timer tb (=ta-t) is calculated. The remaining time tb is expressed on a water-depth displaying part of a liquid crystal display by display treatment.
