PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information terminal which is provided with a key switch facing the front of an equipment casing and a submersion check label and which can easily confirm whether or not the front of a printed circuit board is submerged, without requiring any complicated job and without impairing the terminal appearance. SOLUTION: This portable telephone set (portable information terminal) 1 is provided with a submersion check label 6 which is attached to a key pad 5 (a member set at the movable contact side) of a key switch 4 in a state where the label 6 faces the front 3a of a printed circuit board 3 placed at a fixed contact 4a of the switch 4, a 1st observing window 3W which is made of a transparent body and provided on the board 3 for observing the label 6 from the back side of the board 3, and a 2nd observing window 2W which is provided on the back case 2B of a casing 2 and through which the label 6 can be observed via the window 3W.
