<p>The shut-off valve (1), for a fluid, has a housing (2) with a valve seat (4) at its end for the valve piston (3). The piston carrier (5) is moved axially through the housing by a spindle (6). The housing, piston, valve seat and piston carrier are of plastics. The piston carrier is in contact with the inner wall of the housing, and is given a radial movement on exceeding a given torque. The piston has a ring seal (7) to work with the chamfered edge (8) of the opening (9) through the valve seat to block a fluid flow when the piston is in the end position. The piston is fitted to the carrier so that they or keyed together or can rotate against each other.</p> |
